The Roof Is Finally Here

Finally we had a beautiful sunny day instead of dreary rain. It was such good timing for the installation of our colorbond roof. The colour is "monument", and it's a bit too dark for my taste. After a few days of looking at it and getting use to it I'm sure I will love it. I am hoping to get some better photos tomorrow depending on the weather (as rain is expected again).

Getting ready for the roof!

Today saw a break in the rain that we've had for the past 2 weeks. I even saw some blue sky for a few minutes. It didn't last long and rain is forecast again for next week. Our roof was supposed to be done on 22nd August, then 28th August. Hopefully it will get done next week.

Colorbond Delivery

This miserably rain is still hanging around. It rained all of last night. Our colorbond roof sheeting was delivered this morning.

Rainmageddon go away please

Rain rain go away, come again some other day!! Our brickwork is almost finished and our roof is due to go up this week. I guess this won't happen due to rain. I'm sure my backyard is now full of water. There is a hole under our aircon slab, it will be full of water now! I hope this doesn't damage the slab.  

Bricklaying begins

Bricklaying started. It's very hard to get a decent picture through that safety fencing!! Picture is from day 2 of bricklaying.

Natural variation in bricks

This is natural variation. Both bricks are Austral Everyday Life "Engage". Top brick is current sample at Austral yard. Bottom brick is the one currently being delivered as "engage". Crazy!
