Bricklaying started. It's very hard to get a decent picture through that safety fencing!! Picture is from day 2 of bricklaying.

Natural variation in bricks

This is natural variation. Both bricks are Austral Everyday Life "Engage". Top brick is current sample at Austral yard. Bottom brick is the one currently being delivered as "engage". Crazy!

Crazy Bricks

We visited Austral Bricks today. My head almost exploded when I saw the current sample bricks compared to 5 months ago. How can the brick colours vary so much???? The brick company calls it "natural variation", which translates to... different colour. It's just a lucky dip really. Choose your brick but don't fall in love with it because, 5 months later when your bricks arrive they will be a different colour!!! Don't trust the website, brochure , or display wall.

Bricks

Bricks delivered are on the left. Brick chosen from brick yard on right. I didnt really want an orange brick. Guess that's what I'm getting.
